"I celebrate myself; and what I assume you
shall assume; for every atom belonging to me, as good belongs to you."
Song of Myself
- Walt Whitman (1855)
The World is the 21st key in the Tarot Arcana and is
represented astrologically by the planet Saturn. Saturn is associated with
time, maturity, structure, gravitation, boundaries, the truth about the
truth, and beauty through perfection. The mode of consciousness attributed
to the World archetype is administrative intelligence, suggesting that it
guides and directs the energies of manifestation, formalizing patterns that
govern life and order creation.
The archetype of the World reveals that an ideal state
exists within every thought or outward form. The key to unlocking the
mysteries and laws of creation are within every aspect of manifestation. All
aspects of creation contain codes by which its inner reality can be
encountered, but only by learning its language. Man must know himself and
recognize that he is an integral part of the natural world. All that is, is
a reflection of universal mind, the knowledge of which can free one from
thralldom to the realm of appearances.
