The High Priestess is the 2nd key in the Tarot Arcana. Her path is associated astrologically with the Moon. She represents the waters of pure consciousness. Her dominion is absolute depth. The High Priestess is the virginal womb out of which all that is emanates. She is the first mother, the ever-incognizable mystery that transcends all attributions, qualities, and thought. She and the Magus represent pre-cosmic ideation and force. Their union expresses the initiating desire of the divine will or the no thing to know itself.
